On August 1, at the Olympic games, a boxing match between Iranian boxer Imane Khelif and Angela Carini as the match began. The two boxers began throwing a few punches, non making contact. Kehlif would later make contact with Carini’s chin, which would cause her headgear too. She would head to her coach to fix her mouthguard and headgear to move. After re-entering, Carini and Khelif would throw some punches, and Khelif would throw a punch directly hitting Carini’s face. She would again head to her coach, and after talking, she would tell him that she no longer wanted to fight, quitting the match. Carini can be seen talking to her coach, and the conversation looks like it is getting heated.

The two boxers head to the middle, and Carini can be heard saying, “It’s not fair, it’s not fair, it’s not fair.” The referee would hold the two boxers’ hands up and announce the match’s victor, Imane Khelif. Khelif would head to Carini to shake her hand, but Carini would fall to her knees and burst into tears.
