Mercedes Vega Unsolved year old murder
On April 17 around 1:15 am the Maricopa County Sheriffs responded to numerous calls they received of a burning car found miles away off the I-10 West of Tonopah.
The department of Public Safety Troopers were also called to the area while searcing the car a body of an unidentified person was found in the back seat of the car. Six months would go until the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s would reveal the auposy and identify the body that was found in the back of the car.
The body was identified as 22- year- old Mercedes Vega the autopsy as revelead that she had been tortered before she was killed. Vega had bleach poured down her throat, she had a bullet wound in her arm Vega also had blunt force tramua to her head but that was not her cause of death. The Medical examiner’s showed that Vega’s cause of death was smoke inhalation.
