Search for Emmanuel Haro Turns to Suspicion Parents Arrested in Baby’s Disappearance
On August 14th, a woman named Rebecca Haro went to a Big 5 Sports Goods store to purchase an item for her stepson. Rebecca, accompanied by her 7-month-old son Emmanuel, spent some time shopping around the store. Afterward, she headed to her car. As she was walking to the car, Rebecca noticed the smell of a dirty diaper and decided to change Emmanuel. She parked in an isolated area and placed Emmanuel on the lid of the truck to change his diaper.
While in the middle of changing his diaper, Rebecca claims that a man approached her from behind and said, “Hola.” The man then allegedly punched Rebecca in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. She later claimed that she was knocked unconscious, and when she regained consciousness, Emmanuel was gone.
Panicked, Rebecca ran back into the store and asked the employees if they had seen a man with a baby. When the employees responded that they had not, they immediately called the police and reported Emmanuel as missing.
When the police arrived, Rebecca retold her version of events. A search for Emmanuel began. Rebecca and her husband, Jake Haro (Emmanuel’s father), spoke to the media, pleading for the safe return of their 7-month-old son. In an interview with E! News, Rebecca said,
