The death of John Lang: Was it a murder or a case of paranoia

A man by the name of John Lang from Fresno, California, driving down the highway would be stopped by a police officer for what Lang claims was a licensing plate scam. This scam involved the Fresno Police scanning license plates of vehicles in retail parking lots, detaining those that committed violations. Lang’s marriage was already falling apart, and the stress of dealing with this license plate scam ended it. Lang investigated the matter and discovered that the Fresno police mainly targeted low-income neighborhoods and pulled over drivers blocks away from where they claimed to have spotted the vehicles during routine driving patrols. Lang planned to document and share this information anonymously in the local newspaper, the Fresno Bee. However, when the Fresno Bee moved its comment section to Facebook, Lang’s criticisms of the Fresno Police became public. But that wasn’t all.

A reporter who worked for the Fresno Bee would leak his information and IP address to a staff sergeant at the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. That reporter was allegedly Judy Murray ( I attempted to reach out to Murray but have yet to hear back); the sergeant was named Jared L. McCormick. Since then, Lang has reported being followed by police, sheriffs, and Fresno personnel everywhere he went. Since exposing this illegal activity, Lang would create a blog sharing his experience of being stalked and harassed by the Fresno police.
